Matt Kindt Announces...

He will be at Wondercon!

Rudy is so excited about this, he loved 2 Sisters and Revolver but right now is super into Mind MGMT. Rudy seriously adores this guy, with good reason he is an an awesome writer (from witnessing Rudy's obsession with him). Rudy is totally going to dork out on him and wants to make him a shirt from the Mind MGMT comic. He is going to be so giddy when/if he meets him, he follows him on Twitter and Facebook and is always liking or commenting on his posts.

Funko Pop! DC Domo

The Pop! DC Domo line is said to be releasing this month, though some online sites are offering pre-order for the end of March and April.

The line will include The Green Lantern, Batman, The Dark Knight, and The Flash. Their will also be a mini blindbox release (I'm a sucker for blindboxes). These are way cool and I can't wait to get my hands on some!

Big Wow ComicFest

Sweet, a local comic convention... We are so going to this!

May 18-19 2013

Tickets go on sale online February 18th and at select comic shops March 1st. No word on prices yet but they say more information will be available a few days before tickets go on sale. They have a floor map available and list of exhibitors and guests here, this looks pretty cool.

Comic Book Wednesday

Dia De Los Muertos Issue Uno by Riley Rossmo, Shadowline/Image.

"In this issue: A mariachi falls in love with a woman who strongly resembles his lost love, a father is abused by a poltergeist, and a girl who's mother died when she was born visits the land of the dead in her dreams."

This will be a three part series released  throughout 2013. I do plan on readig all of them as the first issue was interesting. I love that there are three different stories all based around the holiday Day of the Dead when the spirit world draws closer. My favorite story was the second one,  "Reflections".

Adventure Time Funko Pop Vinyl

I had heard about the Adventure Time Pop figures a while ago by a friend who is big into Funko products and always knows the lastest releases. I had somewhat forgotten about them until I went into a Hot Topic the other day and saw Finn ad Jake for $12.50, I did not hesitate and scooped them up right away. They now have a new home next to Pop Batman and Pop Boba Fett.

I wanted to collect them all but unfortunately these were the only characters the had in stock so I am now on the search for LSP, Marceline and  Ice King. They are some for sale on eBay but as usual they are marked up at least twice the original price. Toy Wiz does have them all available for pre-order for April at $10.99 each. I will be doing some local toy hunting but if I have no luck, at least I have an alternative. I hoping that this Adventure Time release means that Regular Show figures are a possibility. I would love Mordecai, Rigby, Skips, Muscle Man, Pops, Benson and maybe even Death vinyls!

WonderCon 2013

This will be Rudy and my first time attending a con together. Rudy was able to attended Ape last year and throughly enjoyed it. He came home with all kinds of awesome stuff and independent comics and art, I was pretty jealous. We are super excited to be able to attended Wondercon this year and will be making the trek from the Central Coast to Southern California. We were hoping Wondercon would be able to secure the San Francisco location as in previous years, but now we get to make a little vacation out of this. It is going to take place at the Anaheim Convention Center and we are planning on staying at one of their headquarters hotels, Marriot Anaheim or Hilton Anaheim. The headquarters hotels are right next to the convention center and have low rates, score!

March 29-31

"WonderCon Anaheim, one of the country's best comics and popular arts conventions, will take place the weekend of March 29 - 31 (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), at the beautiful Anaheim Convention Center. In addition to the Exhibit Hall, featuring comics and merchandise from many popular artists and retailers, fans can expect exclusive programming from the top comics publishers in the country, movie and television panels, anime, autographs, games, the Masquerade, and portfolio review. The Anaheim Convention Center is also within easy walking distance to Disneyland's free Downtown Disney district and The Shops at Anaheim Gardenwalk, making it an ideal location for a long weekend visit. WonderCon Anaheim offers the complete convention experience!" -WonderCon
